On 9th May AWITA visited the Drawing Room Biennial to hear from @alexis_soul_gray, @erinlawlorstudio and @gabriellaboyd_ 3 of the artists of the biennial who responded to work in the show and discussed their practice.
For the Drawing Room Biennial: selected artists are asked to donate an A4-size drawing on paper.
Works are displayed alphabetically so that well-known names are seen next to emerging artists. The 300 works are part of an auction that provides the opportunity to either begin or develop your collection, whilst supporting Drawing Room for the next two years of activity, supporting artists and their community through championing drawing.
Members also had a chance to network and explore the Drawing Room library, a free and open to all, unique collection of around 4,000 books dedicated to the study of contemporary drawing.
